• Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Demand can be high so prompt registration is advised. All parents and swimmers must agree and adhere to the Swim School Terms & Conditions and by accepting the booking you are saying you understand and agree to them,
• A place cannot be confirmed unless a direct debit or initial payment has been made,
• When you sign our terms & conditions, you take responsibility for the fact that, should you answer ‘yes’ regarding any medical conditions you or your child might have, you’ve checked things out with your doctor before starting with us. This responsibility is passed on to any other responsible adult who might bring your child swimming,
• Children progress at different speeds.You will be informed when your child is ready to move to the next level. However the same day and time are not guaranteed,
• We operate a no refund policy on group lessons once they have been booked. However, if your child has an unforeseen medical problem and is unable to attend a significant number of lessons then please contact Larisa at larisa.sucan@elswickpool.co.uk. Refund policy is different for 1-1’s, please see a member of staff.
• Sessions will not be credited for holidays, short term illness etc.
• Bookings can be transferred to different days/times where spaces are available
• Elswick Community Leisure Centre has the right to cancel lessons where facilities become unavailable (e.g. pool failure/closure)- credit will be allocated,
• Please note that while we make every effort to ensure continuity of instructors, we cannot guarantee that you will have the same instructor throughout
• The taking of photos is forbidden unless a ‘photo request form’ has been completed
• Requesting to be added on the waiting list can only be done in writing via email at info@elswickpool.co.uk,
• If your child has been placed on a waiting list, you will be contacted via phone when a place becomes available. If we don’t hear from you within a week, the child will be removed from the waiting list,
• Our lessons are for 46 weeks of the year with a 3 x 2 week breaks at Christmas, Easter and the last 2 weeks of the school summer holidays,
• Non payment of direct debits will result in your child being removed from the lessons.
• Swimmers should be dropped off ready to swim at the entrance to the poolside in the shower area. Once swimmers are dropped off here, they will be assigned a specific area (depending on swimming lesson ability) to sit and wait for their teacher to come and collect them. At the end of the lesson swimmers will be returned to the shower area where all under 8’s must be met by their responsible adult,
• From time-to-time Elswick Community Pool Swim School may update these terms by sending you either an updated version or notification of minor changes.

General Information

• Lessons start from 4 years old,
• Please ensure that lessons are paid for in full at time of booking. Payments can be made by credit or debit card/cash at reception,
• Should children wish to swim prior to or after their lessons, a separate ticket must be purchased (under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult),
• Children must change into their swimming costumes in the changing rooms. No belongings can be left in the changing rooms. These should be stored in lockers or with the parents,
• Swim School does not accept responsibility for any damage or loss of property or articles left on the premises (whether being worn or left in the pool/ changing rooms) or within the grounds/car park of the premises. This also applies to the car park & parking. Please make sure you are parked in the allocated parking spaces only. Please do not park on any grassed areas,
• No jewellery should be worn for health and safety reasons. Ear studs are permitted but these should be covered with small plasters,
• The use of mobile telephones or cameras on poolside is strictly prohibited
• Parents must remain in the facility for the duration of their child’s swimming lesson in the spectator area and not on poolside,
• All Instructors are Swim England or STA qualified, insured and experienced swimming teachers and hold the relevant RLSS & safeguarding certificates. We pride ourselves on our high Instructor to swimmer ratio, ensuring your child will receive above average attention. As some physical contact with your child is unavoidable all staff adhere to Safeguarding Procedures and are DBS checked.
