Elswick Community Pool and Gym

Hello and welcome to Elswick Community Pool and Gym. Re-opened in September 2019 by local activists after a four-year closure, we’re an award-winning social enterprise and registered charity powered by passionate volunteers and a professional staff team.

In our lovely warm, uniquely shaped, accessible pool we offer lane and family swimming, aquafit classes, fun inflatables, pool parties and male and female only sessions. We run both group and one to one swimming lessons from the tiniest of toddlers with their parents up to adult classes at any age. Our Swim England and STA accredited lessons start from age 4 with friendly instructors and lots of support to ensure you enjoy learning to swim. We also deliver RLSS lifeguard courses and host clubs for scuba diving, triathlon training and other exciting pursuits, just ask for details.

Elswick Community Pool and Gym

We have a well-equipped gym with a range of cardiovascular and weight stack machines, free weights and dumbbells. Call in to be shown around. Arrange an induction session with our gym instructors and get your first session free. We can help you to make exercise plans and support you to achieve your goals. We have dedicated male and female only gym sessions.

Our studio is where we hold a range of classes from Pilates to Zumba, we’re always here to advise on what would best suit your level of fitness, and there’s boxing training for both adults and children. We have a café, rooms to hire for meetings, community events and parties. Get ready to make a splash in the heart of Elswick where fitness meets community spirit!

Set in the grounds of Elswick Park with a fantastic view over the Tyne Valley, we’re open 7 days a week.
