🏋️♂️ Memberships & Joining
How do I join Elswick Community Pool & Gym?
Click the “Become a member” button at the top of our website to get started. You’ll be redirected to our sign-up page where you can choose your preferred membership.
Can I sign up online or do I need to come in?
The entire sign-up process can be completed online.
What membership options are available?
We offer a range of memberships, including gym and fitness classes, swim and fitness classes, full access (gym, swim & classes), as well as couple and family memberships.
Is there a joining fee?
There is no joining fee if you sign up via direct debit. If you choose a one-month membership, a £5.01 admin fee will be added.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Yes, but direct debit memberships require one month’s notice to cancel.
Do you offer any discounts or promotions?
We offer concession discounts, pay-as-you-go options, and a referral scheme through our app.
🏊 Facilities & Access
Do I need to book to visit the gym or pool?
No booking is required — simply turn up and pay on arrival. All sessions are first-come, first-served.
The only exception is the fitness classes, for which we strongly advise booking through our app (Elswick Community Pool and Gym on App Store and Google Play – available for members only).
Do I need to book swimming sessions?
No, general swimming sessions (lane, public, family, inflatable) do not require booking. Swimming lessons must be booked in advance.
What are your opening hours?

Are fitness classes included in membership?
Yes, all fitness classes are included in every membership.
Is there parking available?
Yes, free on-site parking is available for all customers.

Do you offer personal training?
Yes, we have qualified personal trainers available. Sessions are £25, with discounts available for block bookings.
Can I choose my personal trainer?
Yes, we have male and female PTs. Head over to our Personal Training page and fill out the enquiry form.
Do you offer beginner support or gym inductions?
Yes, all gym memberships include a free induction.

Do you offer swimming lessons for children and adults?
Yes, we offer swimming lessons for all ages and levels, both group and individual. Head over to our swimming lessons page for more information.
What stages/levels are available?
We follow Swim England stages from Stage 1 to Stage 10, as well as Rookie Lifesaving and Parent & Child classes.
How do I book swimming lessons?
All swimming lessons can be booked online via our website.
Are there waiting lists?
If your class of choice is not available, you can add yourself to the waiting list by selecting ‘show full classes’. You will be informed when a space becomes available over email.
How do I cancel my lessons?
To cancel, email info@elswickpool.co.uk. One month’s notice is required.

Can children use the gym?
No, gym access and fitness classes are available for those aged 16 and over.
What age do children need to be for swimming lessons?
Lessons start from age 3, with parent & baby/toddler sessions available for younger children.
Do you run holiday camps or activities?
Yes, we run holiday camps during most school holidays. Follow us on social media or join our newsletter to stay updated.
Do you offer family memberships?
Yes, family memberships are available for 2 adults & 2 children, or 1 adult & 3 children.
How many children can one adult supervise?
One adult can supervise up to 2 children under the age of 8.

Is the facility accessible for wheelchair users?

Can I bring a carer or support worker?
Yes, carers can attend free of charge when supporting a customer.
☕ Café & Extras
Do you have a café on site?
Yes, Café@Elswick offers a range of hot drinks, snacks, and homemade sweet and savoury options.
Can non-members use the café?
Yes, the café is open for everyone, but we do advise keeping an eye on our café timetable.

Monday to Friday 6am to 9pm
Saturday 8am – 5.30pm
Sunday 8am to 4.30pm
Our car park is accessed from Beech Grove Road. It does get busy at times but there’s ‘on street’ parking just a short walk away on Westmoreland Road and there’s a car park near the shops on Elswick Road.
